The garden had everything-flowers, streams, sunlight, song. But one thing was missing. At night, when the fireflies danced, the fairies noticed a gap in the sky. A single star had vanished.

"Why do you look up?" the other fairies asked a young fairy named Stella, whose wings shimmered like silver dust.

"Because something is gone," she said. "And I will find it."

The others laughed. "Stars do not vanish. They only hide."

But Stella climbed the tallest oak, then the highest cloud, then the silver ladder of moonlight. She climbed until the garden was a speck below.

At the top of the sky, she found the last star. It was dim, curled into itself, hiding behind a veil of darkness.

"Why are you hiding?" Stella asked.

The star whispered. "I am tired. I have shone for a billion years. No one looks at me anymore."

Stella sat beside the star. "I look at you."

"You are one fairy," the star said. "What difference can you make?"

Stella touched the star's warm surface. "Every difference begins with one."

She sang a song-not a fairy song, but a human lullaby she had heard floating up from the world below. The star flickered.

"Sing again," it whispered.

Stella sang. The star grew brighter. She sang of gardens, of fairies, of children dreaming. The star blazed.

The other stars, hearing the song, crept out from their hiding places. The sky filled with light.

"You saved us," the stars whispered.

"You saved yourselves," Stella said. "I just reminded you that you are seen."

She climbed down the ladder of moonlight, through the clouds, down the oak, back to the garden.

"Where have you been?" the fairies asked.

"Bringing back the stars," Stella said.

The night sky was full again, brighter than before. The fairies no longer took the stars for granted.

Stella became known as the Stargazer Fairy, reminding the garden that even the smallest creature can reach the sky.

She still climbs the tallest oak, watching the stars, singing lullabies.

The brightest star is the one she saved. It blinks just for her.

"Thank you," it whispers.

"Thank you," she whispers back.

The garden is complete now-flowers, streams, sunlight, song, and stars.

And Stella? She needs no other magic. She has the sky.

The other fairies no longer laugh. They climb the oak, watch the stars, and remember.

Stella's story is told every night, when the first star appears.

"Look up," the fairies tell their children. "Someone is watching over us."

And Stella still watches, her wings silver, her heart full.

She knows that even the smallest fairy can light up the sky.

And the stars know it too.

The garden sleeps under a canopy of light, and Stella sleeps beneath the brightest star.

They are connected-fairy and star, earth and sky, dream and dreamer.

And the story never ends. It shines on, in every heart that looks up and wonders.
